American Encore Joins 56-Group-Strong Coalition Against Ex-Im Bank
Today American Encore is announcing its membership in a coalition of 56 leading national conservative groups against the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. The Ex-Im Bank is a New Deal-era policy that is simply another avenue for the federal government to pick winners and losers in the market. American Encore believes allowing the Ex-Im Bank's charter to expire is the policy path most consistent with free market principles. American Encore President Sean Noble offered the following statement:
"It's long past due for Congress to repeal the Export-Import Bank. Ex-Im is a government handout to some of the largest corporations in America and hurts small business and taxpayers. It is a prime example of what's wrong with Washington: big government giving favors to big business."
